Fanatec highlights at SimRacing Expo Frankfurt 2026

SimRacing Expo 2026 is underway in Frankfurt, with Fanatec showcasing its latest hardware alongside an early look at several products still in development.

Project Obsidian brings together technologies and design experience developed across generations of Fanatec steering wheels. Its most distinctive feature is a 5-inch, high-resolution color display, integrated beneath a single piece of glass alongside the RevLEDs and illuminated rotary switches. The wheel also features RGB-backlit buttons and a robust all-aluminum structure.

Designed with SimHub and console compatibility in mind, Obsidian supports detailed dash data through USB or Wi-Fi, including UDP data for broad compatibility with console games.

The prototype is being shown earlier in development than usual, reflecting the strong community demand for a Fanatec steering wheel with a large color display. Development is ongoing, with Fanatec gathering feedback ahead of its planned launch in 2027.
